Few candidates file papers for Phase 3 Parishad polls in Narayanpet
Narayanpet: As the process for the third phase of MPTC/ ZPTC elections has began in Narayanpet on Tuesday, there was a lukewarm response as not many showed up to file their papers for a total of 4 ZPTC and 55 MPTC seats.
In Narayanpet mandal, out of a total 17 MPTC seats, only two persons filed their nominations and for ZPTC not a single candidate came forward to file their papers on the first day.
In Damaragidda mandal, out of 16 MPTC and one ZPTC seat, not a single person turned up to file their nominations to both the ZPTC and the MPTC seats. Similar is the case in Dhanwada mandal.
Here also not a single person filed their nomination for the single ZPTC seat while out of 11 MPTC seats, only one person filed his nomination on Tuesday.
Even in Marikal, none filed nomination for the ZPTC seat, while three persons file their nominations for 11 MPTC seats. It is said that the first day being a Tuesday, many leaders have sentiment that Tuesday is not auspicious to file nominations and thus the first day had witnessed low turnout.
As the last date for filing nominations is May 2, many are expected to file their papers on Wednesday and Thursday.
