File cases against people drinking in public places: CP Kamalasan Reddy

Karimnagar: With an aim to discourage drinking in public places in the city, Police Commissioner V B Kamalasan Reddy on Saturday directed the police personnel file e-cases against those found drinking openly in the Commissionerate limits.

The Police Commissioner was addressing a crime review meeting held at Commissionerate in Karimnagar. The Police Commissioner ordered the cops to solve the serious cases within two months and non-serious cases within one month, and implement 50 percent of non-bailable warrants lodged before 2012.

He also directed them to involve the people in installation of CCTV cameras in all villages and colonies under the limits of various police stations. Conduct awareness programmes in all villages and inform the people about the benefits of installation of CCTV cameras, he added.

In the part of visible policing, all the police personnel of various levels must wear perfect uniform and must conduct patrolling from 5.30 to 7.30 pm in the places where there is a scope for occurrence of crime.

He also told them to implement the rule of wearing of helmets and seat belts while driving vehicles. Later, CP V B Kamalasan Reddy presented rewards to the police personnel for rendering best services.

Additional DCPs S Srinivas (L&O), Chandra Mohan (Administration), ACPs P Ashok, Vijay Sarathi, S Srinivas Rao and Shankar Raju and others were present.
