Fire department officials do safety check at hospitals in Mahbubnagar
Mahbubnagar: In the event of recent fire accident at a hospital in Hyderabad that killed an infant, the officials of Fire Safety department in Mahbubnagar district have started taking precautionary measures and started to inspect all the hospitals and major buildings such as hotels, shopping malls and offices in the district and checking whether all these places are equipped with fire safety equipments or not.
As part of their inspection and awareness drive on the fire safety norms, the district Fire Safety department staff led by P Jaya Krishna, District Fire Safety Officer, Mahbubnagar visited the Ravi Children's hospital and checked weather the hospital is abiding by all the fire safety norms.
Apart from inspecting and enquiring about the various measures being taken to avoid fire accidents in the hospital, the fire department officials also conducted a mock fire safety drill and checked how alert are the hospital authorities to tackle any kind of untoward fire safety emergency incident.
The DFSO, apart from explaining what needs to be done in the event of fire, he also explained to the hospital authorities various measures and precautions to be taken in the event of any fire accident in the hospital. Apart from giving instructions, suggestions and ideas to overcome fire accidents, the Fire department officials also demonstrated live methods of extinguishing the fire.
They also explained the Co2 DCP extinguisher equipment and explained to the hospital authorities how to use them in the event of a fire accident. Dr Sekhar, Medical Director of Ravi Children's Hospital also took part in the programme and explained to the fire safety authorities the various fire safety measures being taken in the hospital.
The medical director thanked the DFSO and other Fire Safety personnel for providing them with insights of fire safety tips and precautionary measures.
