First level of EVMs randomisation done: Peddapalli Collector

Peddapalli: The first phase of randomisation of EVMs, to be used in the Parliamentary elections, has been completed, informed Peddapalli District Collector Devasena.

The first phase of EVMs checking was completed through online in the presence of the representatives of political parties under the supervision of Joint Collector at the Collectorate conference hall here on Saturday.

Later, the Collector visited the godown where the EVMs were stored. A total of 1,370 ballot units, 1,044 control units and 1,110 VVPats were allotted for three constituencies in Peddapalli district and 30 EVMs were used for creating awareness and to give training on EVMs to the election staff.

The Collector said 29 per cent additional VVPats and 21 per cent ballot and control units were allotted to each Assembly constituency. Manthani Assembly segment with 288 polling stations was allotted 21 per cent ballot units and control units and the randomisation was completed.

Ramagundam Assembly constituency has 260 polling stations and 21 per cent ballot units and control units and randomisation was completed. In addition to this, 29 per cent additional units were to each constituency.

After checking, the EVMs will be allotted to the constituencies at Peddapalli market yard. The Collector said that the second level of randomisation will be undertaken by the Assistant Returning Officers in the district.

District Executive Officer Vanaja Devi, Peddapalli RDO Upender Reddy, Collectorate C Section Superintendent Pal Singh and other officials have accompanied the Collector.
