Fish seedlings worth 3.3 cr released in Singeetam reservoir

Kamareddy: Fish seedlings worth Rs 3.3 crores have been supplied to the fishermen in Kamareddy district, said ZP chairperson Dafedar Shobha Raju. On Wednesday, she released 1,81,000 fish seedlings in Singeetam reservoir in Nizamsagar mandal. She also released fish seedlings in another 551 tanks.

Jukkal MLA Hanmanth Shinde, Joint Collector Yadi Reddy, FDO Purnima and RDO Rajeshwar Dol Singh had accompanied the ZP chairperson. Shobha said they are raising prawns in seven lakes this time around since shrimp farming also brings good benefits. MLA Shinde said the Telangana government has taken measures to provide employment to the people in villages to stop them from migration. After supplying fish for the needs of the district, the remaining fish will be exported to other areas, he added.
