Five African nationals arrested by Rachakonda police
The cybercrime wing of Rachakonda police brought five persons of African native on prisoner transit warrant from New Delhi.
According to police, the accused men cheated a victim in tune of Rs. 4,80,000 . The accused gang members initially honeytrapped the victim through Facebook and pretended to be a woman. After developing a strong friendship the accused informed the victim that she has come to Hyderabad and is caught on airport by the customs authorities.
One of the accused pretended to a customs officer and called the victim to send the money because her friend has brought in lot of gold and cash which needs customs clearance. Believing the words of the fraudsters the victim sent the money, but he realised that he was cheated and then he filed a police complaint.
Based on the complaint the accused gang was nabbed from New Delhi and brought to the city and they will be remanded to judicial custody, said Mahesh Bhagwat, Rachakonda police Commissioner.
