Five of a family including a three-year-old boy found dead in an open well near a godown at Gorrekunta under Geesugonda police limits on Warangal outskirts. The police who learned about the incident retrieved the bodies with the help of firefighters, disaster response team and sent to MGM hospital for post-mortem.

The deceased were identified as MD Maksud (50), his wife Nisha (45), daughter Busra (20), son and three-year-old son-in-law.

According to the additional DCP Venkatalakshmi, MD Maksud, a native of West Bengal had moved to Warangal 20 years ago and was residing at a rented house in Karimabad. In December 2019, the family moved to Geesugonda after Maksud found a gunny bag stitching job in the godown. The entire family is said to have stayed in two rooms in the godown due to the lockdown.

The police said that they have found no injuries on the bodies and suspected to have committed suicide. Meanwhile, the locals suspected that the family might have been murdered as four other co-workers belonging to Bihar have gone missing.

The Geesugonda police registered a case and launched an investigation.
