Nalgonda/Suryapet/Bhongir: Former Minister and Congress party district in-charge A Chandra Shekar stated that party would fight against the anti-policies being implemented by both the Central and the State governments in the interest of the people of the State and the country.

Along with DCC president Shankar Naik, he led a protest staged in front of the Nalgonda Collectorate on Friday. Addressing the gathering, he said that economy in the State and in the country was ruined by the bad policies implemented by the TRS and BJP governments respectively. "The Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central government is ignoring the welfare of poor and strengthening the corporate sector by taking decisions in favor of them," he said, adding that the Congress party during its regime had designed welfare schemes in the interest of common man and the rural India.

"Note ban, Goods and Services Tax and importing goods from China on a large scale have worsened the country's economy," he stressed.

Stating that the TRS government was blindly following the footsteps of Modi-led BJP government, he said the visionless schemes of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had pushed the State economy into crisis.

He expressed his concern over the CM's adamant attitude towards the striking RTC workers, and demanded the government to follow the High Court directions and invite RTC unions for talks to put end to the strike in the interest of 4 crore people of the State.

Exemplifying Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy's murder, he asserted that attacks and burden on the staff of revenue department have been increasing day-by-day due to State government's flawed revenue policies and schemes.

He condemned the arrests of Congress workers and house arrest of leaders by police in view of party protest programme. Former Zilla Parishad chairman Balu Naik, party leaders Rapolu Jaya Prakash, Gummula Mohan Reddy, Burri Srinivas Reddy, Gopagani Madhavi, Dhana Laxmi, Amin Baba, party local representatives and workers in large number participated in the protest.

In Suryapet, former minister Ramreddy Damoder Reddy and in Bhongir, Kumbam Anil Kumar Reddy led the party's protest.

Meanwhile, a large number of police were deployed at respective Collectorate offices in Nalgonda, Suryapet and Yadadri-Bhongir districts to avoid any untoward incidents during the protest.
