Focus on Pattana Pragathi: Errabelli Dayakar Rao
Hyderabad: Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi programmes were aimed at overall and uniform development of the rural and urban areas, Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao said. Speaking at a meeting to create awareness about the Pattana Pragathi programme here on Wednesday, he told the people's representatives and officials to work together. He said that State government was committed to strengthen gram panchayats (GPs) and municipalities.
He emphasised the need for people's representatives, officials and the people to play a proactive role in the implementation of Pattana Pragathi. He directed the officials to prepare an action plan for the development of municipalities.
He said that action will be taken against those who neglect Haritha Haram and sanitation works. Referring to Palle Pragathi, he told the officials to ensure the completion of works pending related to the construction of graveyards, dumping yards etc. within one week.
Later, speaking at a meeting on Panchayat Raj Act and implementation of Pattana Pragathi in Hanamkonda, he said that the State government had already released sufficient funds. He said that five Gram Panchayats that put up a sterling performance in Palle Pragathi would be selected from each mandal and will be given Rs 10 lakh for their development.
