Focus will be on quality of works: Collector C Narayana Reddy
Mulugu: Mulugu District Collector C Narayana Reddy directed the officials on duty to oversee the work on arrangements for the upcoming biennial Sammakka Saralamma Jatara in Medaram to be vigilant.
Conducting a review meeting along with Superintendent of Police Sangram Singh G Patil here on Friday, the Collector told the officials to take up the permanent works only if they can be completed well ahead of the jatara. Otherwise, the works should be taken up on temporary basis to make them available for the devotees, he added.
"It is high time for the officials to ground all the works as there is not much time left for the jatara. Even though it is essential to complete the works before the start of the jatara, the emphasis should be on the quality of works," the Collector said. The quality of works would be assessed by the Vigilance Team comprising of RDO Rama Devi, Audit Officer I Ravi, SC Corporation ED T Ravi and Assistant Registrar Taslima, the Collector said.
Any discrepancy in the fund utilisation will not be spared, Narayana Reddy warned. Referring to the importance of teamwork, the Collector said that a lot depends on officials who supervised jatara arrangements in the past.
"It is mandatory for the officials on Medaram jatara duty to record their attendance on Upasthiti App, a mobile application to monitor attendance on real time basis designed by the NIC Team," the Collector said, directing them to submit progress report of the works at regular intervals.
Referring to the safety of devotees at Jampannavagu (stream) in Medaram, he told the officials to ensure water level in the stream below three-and-a-half-foot. RDO Rama Devi, Audit Officer I Ravi, SC Corporation ED T Ravi and Assistant Registrar Taslima, DPO Venkaiah and CPO Venkatramana were among others present.
