Vikarabad: District Collector Masrat Khanam Aisha advised representatives of political parties to take prior permission from Media Certification Monitoring Commission (MCMC) for placing advertisements in newspapers on polling day and a day before polling.

While addressing representatives of political parties and press persons at the Collectorate, the Collector asked parties to take permission from MCMC and added that action would be taken against law violators.

Masrat Khanam said that they received as many as 29 complaints through cVIGIL app and said that on investigation it was found that 10 of them were violating norms.

She said they seized Rs 3,79,650 and 5,100 ltrs of liquor. The Collector said they identified 128 sensitive villages and installed CCTV cameras apart from appointing micro observers and webcasting.

Aisha said that they made all arrangements and asked people to complain if any election violations are found by dialing 08416-1950. She said they identified 1,300 differently abled persons and made arrangements for them to cast vote.

The Collector appealed to voters to exercise their franchise as they declared a holiday for private and government organisations. TRS leader Sayanna, TDP leader Narender, Yadaiah, BJP leader Satyanarayana Reddy, Ramchandra Reddy from BSP and media representatives were present.
