Form panel to probe design flaws of flyovers: BJP to govt

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demanded that suitable ex gratia be immediately released to the family of Venkata Satyaveni, woman who died in a freak accident at Bio-diversity park flyover in Hyderabad.

It is evident, both rash driving and the design flaws of the flyover were responsible for her unfortunate death, BJP Chief Spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao said in a press statement on Wednesday.

"It is about time that the State government takes responsibility for its lack of planning and execution. The BJP demands an immediate inspection of all the flyovers in the city by structural engineers deputed by the State government to check the safety measures, road engineering, speed limit displays and design flaws to ensure the safety of the citizens.

An investigation committee needs to probe into the possible design flaws on the Bio-diversity flyover and the report of the same should be made public," he said.
