Former MP Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar joins BJP

Former Rajya Sabha member from Congress party Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday here in the presence of Union Minister JP Nadda.

Speaking to media later, Rapolu said that BJP has recognised his struggle who demanded to declare August 7 as National Handloom Weavers' Day.

Rapolu is learned to have upset with the Congress party after it denied Palakurthy ticket to him during assembly elections in 2018.

He had served in the Congress for 25 years and had resigned from the primary membership of the Congress in March. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2012.
