Four-day training programme for SHE teams begins
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Women Safety Wing on Tuesday commenced a four-day training programme for the SHE teams across the State. Additional DG, Law and Order, Dr Jitender inaugurated the training programme in Lakdikapul and gave a call to the participants to learn the necessary skills and knowledge to handle their job in a qualitative manner so that they can provide better safety and security to women across the State.
Addressing the session Swati Lakra, IG, Law and Order and Women Safety, explained the focus and objectives of establishing SHE teams. She said as other States are replicating the TS SHE team initiatives, the role and responsibility of the State police have increased.
The four-day training programme will focus on the language and behaviour in receiving the petition, scientific and professional approach in investigation, following the standard operating procedures, do's and don'ts while submitting the evidences, legal aspects related to crime against women, records maintenance, gender sensitization etcetera.
Students belongs to different colleges also shared their views about police and their expectations from the SHE teams. CID SP, Sumathi gave a brief on the initiatives taken by the Women Safety Wing and Dr Srinatha Chary, renowned psychologist and counselor dealt the topic of gender sensitisation on the first day of the training programme. Around 60 participants belonging to three commissionerates of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda participated in the programme.
