Gaddabaswapur on high alert as Krishna rises above danger mark

Wanaparthy: As the release of water from Jurala still continuing with over more than 3 lakh cusecs of outflow and also with the release of water from Tungabhadra dams, the water level in Krishna river downstream at Gaddabaswapur village in Chinnambavi mandal of Wanaparthy district is rising with every passing hour.

With this, the Wanaparthy district administration has alerted the local officials to be on high alert and take up all necessary precautionary measures. As per the directions from District Collector, the mandal Tahsildar, agriculture officials and Irrigation officials have already taken up measures to shift the villagers to safer places and arranged temporary shelters and providing all the necessary facilities including food and drinking water.

"We have taken all precautionary measures and alerted the locals regarding the rising of Krishna river above the danger mark in the village. The villagers have already been shifted to the safer places and they are taking shelter at temporary makeshift homes. We are hoping the river will soon recede. However, we are prepared to deal with any kind of exigency," said the district officials.
