Gandhi doctor tests Covid positive as Telangana reports 94 new cases
Hyderabad: Corona cases continue to surge in Telangana with 94 confirmed new cases in the state on Monday. Also, six deaths were reported during the past 24 hours, according to the daily health bulletin issued by the Health department.
It is learnt that two healthcare staff of Gandhi Hospital were infected by the deadly virus. One professor and one PG student from Pathology department reportedly tested positive but there has been no official confirmation from authorities. Doctor's wife also got infection, according to sources. Former BJP MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy and two of his family members also tested positive and they got admitted in Apollo Hospital, Jubilee Hills.
Among the six dead, three are males while three females including a three- and-half month baby girl.
GHMC reported 79 cases while eight other districts reported single digit cases. The number of districts with zero cases for last 14 days that was 25 until few days have dropped down to 12 on Monday after new cases were detected in last few days.
No single migrant or foreign returnee was detected with the virus infection. Meanwhile, more than 12 staff members from SBI branch, Dabeerpura were told to go on home quarantine for two weeks after a bank account holder and his father tested positive. They were told to contact health authorities if they develop any symptoms.
