Gandhi hospital lab in charge sent on deputation after two coronavirus patients test negative

Nagamani, an in-charge of the Virology lab at Gandhi Hospital has been sent on deputation to Fever Hospital on Thursday.

This effect comes after a delay in conducting tests and issue of reports along with the two patients who were tested positive for coronavirus at the Gandhi Hospital have been tested negative by the Pune Virology lab.

The staff at the virology lab of Gandhi Hospital has received severe backlash after the two patients tested negative. However, the paramedical staff, contract workers and a few doctors at the hospital staged a protest with the transfer of Nagamani to the fever hospital.

Meanwhile, the hospital authorities said that it is a formal transfer and has no connection with the issue. Further, Jayalakshmi, professor of Microbiology at Osmania University has been appointed as lab in-charge at the Gandhi hospital.
