GHMC holds 10-day drive to create awareness among public over waste disposal
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has begun a 10-day 'recyclothon' drive to create awareness among the public over waste disposal. The drive has begun from November 3 and will continue till November 12.
The motto of the drive is to prevent waste material from being thrown into nalas and drains which lead to clogging. The waste material such as broken chairs, tables, mattresses, and cots can be handed over to the municipal body rather than throwing them on streets.
Minister for municipal administration and urban development (MAUD) KT Rama Rao also took to Twitter saying, "#GHMC starts a 10D #recyclothon drive. Dry waste like Broken furniture, metals, paper, cardboard, styrofoam, e-waste, etc can be dropped off at ward wise collection centres instead of throwing them on the streets. Call 040-21111111, 30707070, 9030727277 to find your centre."
