GHMC to take up road repair works from Oct 22

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will take up repair works of damaged roads caused due to recent heavy rains from 22nd October to 10th November, informed GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar here on Saturday.

During the City Convergence meeting held at GHMC Head Office, headed by GHM Commissioner, where the HODs of various departments attended, the Commissioner informed that the GHMC is to take up repair works from 22nd October onwards and all BT mix machines would continue to work 24 hrs round the clock. All the major repair works will be taken up.

Further, the Commissioner informed that from the month of November 2019, GHMC will enforce a special team, (Rapid Action Team) to take up immediate repair works of damaged roads.

As there is a proposal to give the maintenance of Major roads, of 680 KMs on a contract basis, the GHMC is focusing on maintenance of Internal roads in a more effective manner on sustain of its durability. On this, the Commissioner issued instructions to the Engineers to supervise the works properly and also to repair the roads where road cutting is done by the HMWS&SB on emergency works.

Due to prevailing weather situation, the GHMC has extended the deadline on restrictions of road cutting up to 1st December from 31st November, for the cable lines, pipelines agencies.
