GHMC told to crack whip on hotels violating parking norm

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Secretary Arvind Kumar on Tuesday instructed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) authorities to get all the pubs and restaurants inspected and ensure that they provide required parking space as specified in the building rules.

The official warned that in case of failure to comply with the requirements, action will be initiated against those who violated the norms including the closure of such establishments.

Arvind observed that lot of complaints are being received that a large number of pubs and restaurants are being run without providing required parking space.

As a result, traffic problems are seen in many busy areas due to visitors parking their vehicles on roads.

Vehicle parking on roads is also causing nuisance to residents, he said.
