Government to construct 2,602 Rythu Vedikas in Telangana
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will construct Rythu Vedika in Erravelli village where his farmhouse is located. He will bear all expenses construction of the facility.
He took this decision at the daylong meeting with Collectors conducted to finalise plan of action for the implementation of new Agriculture Policy under which farmers will have to adhere new crop pattern recommended by the government. As part of the new policy, KCR had proposed the establishment of Rythu Vedikas in 2602 clusters created in the state. The vedika will be equipped with advance technology including video conference facility to disseminate information to the farmers about the crops, experts suggestions and government assistance in providing marketing facility to the farmers produce from time to time. The agricultural officials will discharge their duties from the vadika in all villages.
Soon after the CM announced the construction of the vedika, Ministers and Corporation Chairmen also declared that they will follow KCR in the meeting. The Chief Minister urged MLAs to take initiative and construct the facility by seeking assurance from the philanthropists and outside donors also. The donor names will also be inscribed on vedika. The CM instructed the authorities to complete the recruitment process of all vacant Agriculture Extension Officers on fast pace and ensure they join duties before the completion of Kharif season. He wanted the strict implementation of the new crop system under which the farmer will have to cultivate crops as recommended by the government. The benefit of Rythu Bandhu will be extended to those who practiced the new crop system.
