Governor Tamilisai consoles corona afflicted doctors at NIMS
Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan visited Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad and consoled the doctors and staff who were tested corona positive and are undergoing treatment.
She praised the services rendered by the doctors in difficult times. The Governor enquired about the health condition of the doctors and hoped that they will recover at the earliest. Later, she spoke to doctors at the hospitals and said that she would ask the government to hold coronavirus tests for all doctors.
Due to the rise in the coronavirus cases, she asked the doctors to be on alert. "Though the tests are being held on ICMR guidelines, there is a need to increase the number of tests," she said. So far, around four professors, eight resident doctors and eight paramedical staff tested positive for coronavirus at NIMS.
On the other hand, 49 from Osmania Medical College and four from Gandhi Hospital infected with the coronavirus to date. The government is planning to turn NIMS as COVID-19 nodal centre as Gandhi Hospital has been filled up with the patients.
