Governor Tamilisai Sounderarajan offers silk clothes, jaggery to deities at Medaram Jatara

Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Himachal Pradesh governor Bandaru Dattatreya offered jaggery, silk clothes to the deities Sammakka and Saralamma at Medaram Jatara on Friday.

Ministers Allola Indrakaran Reddy, Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Satyavati Rathod welcomed the governors. "Medaram Jatara is the largest tribal festival in the world and the deities Sammakka and Saralamma stand as an inspiration to the people," said Dattatreya.

Dattatreya said that he was fortunate to visit the Jatara as the governor of Himachal Pradesh.

Thousands of devotees turned up at the Medaram on Friday with the arrival of Sammakka on to the gaddhe on Thursday night from Chilakalagutta. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is also expected to visit Medaram Jatara along with the family.
