Hyderabad: After a 13 month-gap of being posted in various districts on election duties, 378 Tahsildars have been repatriated to the original districts where they worked earlier.

Special Chief Secretary (Revenue) and CCLA (full additional charge) Somesh Kumar issued proceedings to this effect on Sunday evening.

The District Collectors were directed to relieve the Tahsildars by making local arrangements without waiting for substitutes and ensure that, they report to the repatriated districts within a day (November 18) itself.

Of the total 378 Tahsildars, 212 are in Zone 6 while 166 are from Zone 5. For the newly created district of Narayanpet, Mahbubnagar Collector has been told to redirect Tahsildars transferred from Mandals/jurisdiction of the newly formed district of Narayanpet to the District Collector of Narayanpet.

Most of these Tahsildars were transferred to other districts before the Telangana State Assembly Elections in October 2018.

Only some of the Tahsildars were transferred at the time of Lok Sabha Elections. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao agreed to the proposal of repatriation in view of the request of the Tahsildars.
