Hyderabad: The Telangana government has issued orders for the enforcement of land regularisation scheme (LRS) under which the unapproved layouts will be regularised in 43 newly constituted municipalities.

The scheme will also apply in the newly-merged erstwhile gram panchayats into existing 39 municipalities and municipal corporations in the state.

Application under this land regularisation scheme (LRS) will be processed online only.

The LRS approval will be given within 90 days from the date of issue of order in every municipality, which includes Cherial, Alampur, Nakrekal, Wyra, Parigi, Kodangal, Mothkur, Thorrur, Wardhannapet , Raikal, etc.

The order said the plots renewed on or before March 30, 2018, on the date of promulgating the notification regarding new urban local bodies (ULBs) are only eligible for regularisation.

In case of municipalities and municipal corporations falling under the Hyderabad Municipal Development Authority (HMDA) limits, the HMDA will regularise the plots.

Officials said that the local municipal authorities were flooded with applications from the realty developers and individuals requesting to regularize the layouts and residential plots possessed by them.

The regularisation of the lands will not only help reduce the number of litigations on the ownership of lands but also generate revenue for the government.

Earlier, the LRS was being implemented in the municipal corporations.

After the number of urban local bodies goes up by 142, the government realized the necessity of the implementation of the LRS in every municipality.
