Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation approves 5.90 crore works

Warangal: The General Body meeting of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) on Friday approved all agenda and table items pertaining to various development activities.

The Council approved all the four agenda and 14 table items after a debate. In all, seven development works of the agenda items that were worth Rs 1.47 crore, and the 17 development works of the table items to be taken up with an estimated cost of Rs 4.43 crore have been given a go-ahead by the Council. On the occasion, Kola Vinoda sworn in as the co-opted member.

On the other hand, MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy attended the Council meeting for the first time after he got elected in the by-election to the Legislative Council seat under Warangal Local Authorities' Constituency.

Construction of three community toilets in the 30th Division with an outlay of Rs 75 lakh, CC road & CC drain in 16th Division with an outlay of Rs 28 lakh, BT road & sideburns in the 5th Division with an outlay of Rs 44 lakh, and payment of Rs 63 lakh to Akshayapatra Foundation for the implementation of Rs 5-a-meal Annapurna (ongoing) scheme were the major items that got approval by the Council.

Greater Warangal Mayor Gunda Prakash Rao, Government Chief Whip D Vinay Bhaskar, Deputy Mayor Khaja Sirajuddin and 49 Corporators were among others present.
