Gutka stocks worth 40K seized in Wanaparthy
Wanaparthy: The Wanaparthy police seized stocks of banned gutka packets, worth Rs 40,000, from the possession of grocery store owner under Kothakota municipal limits of Wanaparthy district on Tuesday.
Police said that they had received a tip-off from unknown persons about the sale of gutka packets at the grocery store. Soon after receiving the information, local SI from Kottakota police station formed a team and raided the shop.
Upon conducting searches in the grocery store, the police recovered a huge cache of gutka packets stocked illegally. "We have seized gutka packets worth Rs 40,000 which were illegally stocked at the grocery store. We have booked a case against the store owner for conducting gutka sale," said SI Ravikanth Rao.
