Hanamkonda: Gear up for Medaram jatara, officials told
Hanamkonda: Ensure fool proof arrangements for the Sammakka Saralamma jatara to be held at Medaram village under Tadvai mandal in February next year, Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao said. The Minister, who chaired a review meeting at Hanamkonda on Thursday, told Mulugu District Collector C Narayan Reddy, ITDA project officer Chakradhar Rao, Bhupalpally ZP chairperson Jakku Sri Harshini and other officials to complete all civil works by January 1. It may be mentioned here that the biennial Medaram tribal fair is scheduled to be held from February 5 to 8 in 2020.
Stating that the jatara is likely to attract more than one crore devotees, he told the officials to focus on providing roads, toilets, sanitation, lighting and other basic amenities. Errabelli also directed the officials to make arrangements in tune with the sentiments of the Adivasis. Further he told them to consider the views of Adivasis while making arrangements for the smooth conduct of the jatara.
He instructed the officials to prepare an action plan to be implemented for the jatara. There is also a need for looking into the issues faced by the people of neighbouring villages, the Minister said.
