Hanamkonda: KUDA sets eyes on procuring 1,000 crore
Hanamkonda: The Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA), which already forayed into the realty business, is on a mission to procure Rs 1,000 crore to take up more new projects that augurs well for the development of the region. During his interaction with the media here on Wednesday, KUDA Chairman Marri Yadava Reddy revealed the plans in the pipeline.
"Right now, we are focused on land pooling exercise for the future developmental activity. The plan is to acquire at least 500 acres so that they serve future needs of the region. We have plans to develop government lands as well and, in this regard, we made a request to the district administration," he said. Referring to the draft Master Plan 2041, the Chairman said that it was in the final stages. Minister for MA&UD KT Rama Rao, who is scheduled to visit Warangal in January, is expected to release the Master Plan, he said.
This apart, KTR is to inaugurate or lay foundation stones for a slew of projects in the city, he added.
The KUDA has decided to give another opportunity for the applicants, who had already paid Rs 10,000 as registration fee for Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) and failed to complete the process. These applicants have to pay rest of the amount before December 31 to get permissions, he said.
Referring to the recent four-day study tour undertaken by him along with his counterparts of Satavahana, Siddipet and Nizamabad urban development authorities, at the behest of KTR, Reddy said they had observed best practices adopted by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) and Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority, in regard with land pooling, layouts, construction of flats, roads and ring roads. "A detailed report will be submitted to the MA&UD KT Rama Rao next week," Reddy said.
Talking on performance of the KUDA, which got a State Level Award, Reddy heaped praise on planning wing, which took special interest in processing the applications under TSiPASS. "This is the first time that KUDA had won a State level award since its inception," he said. Project Officer E Ajith Reddy was among other officials present.
