Warangal: The resolution of long-pending issues will only be possible if the local bodies cooperate with the administration, Warangal Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil said, chairing a meeting that reviewed the implementation of 30-day special action plan here on Monday.

He said that Gram Panchayats (GPs) have made a significant progress in the implementation of four key parameters enlisted in the 30-Day Action Plan by the State government. Stating that 80 per cent of works have been completed, he directed the officials to ensure the remaining pending work before October 5.

He stressed the importance of green plan for every Gram Panchayat. The gram panchayats should ensure the supply of fruit-bearing saplings to the villagers through their nurseries, he added. He said that administration is ready to give funds for dumping yards and construction of compound walls wherever necessary.

Referring to the implementation of special action plan in 130 Pram Panchayats of urban district, the Collector said that they have rectified hanging electricity wires at 626 places against the 1,008 identified. "While 51 GPs have graveyards, land for graveyards in 64 GPs has been identified. 54 GPs have dumping yards and the administration has identified land in 58 GPs," the Collector said.

So far, avenue plantation with 1.06 lakh saplings has been taken up to a stretch of 346 kilometres in the district. Another 1.24 lakh saplings have been planted under community plantation in 127 areas, he added. The administration has distributed 8 lakh saplings to households to plant them in their backyards, the Collector said. Zilla Parishad CEO Prasoona Rani, DRDO T Ramu, MPDOs, special officers and inspection teams were present.
