Hanamkonda: The Congress demanded the district administration to shift the dumping yard from Balasamudram area to some other location as the residents have been put to distress unable to bear the stink emanating from the trash.

Warangal District Congress Committee president Naini Rajender Reddy along with his party workers visited the dump yard site on Friday and criticised the people's representatives of the ruling TRS for not being sensitive towards the problems faced by the people of Warangal city.

"Even though Warangal is the second largest city in the State, it lacks basic infrastructure. It's appalling to see a dumping yard in the heart of the city. Besides the residents, a huge chunk of people come to Balasamudram area, where a lot of private hospitals are located. It's difficult to bear the stink even for a half-an-hour in the area," Reddy said.

Despite the residents' repeated appeals, the authorities have not taken any measure to shift the dumping yard, he said.

The TRS government has no commitment towards its promises made to the people during the election, referring to the snail pace of double bedroom houses promised to poor. The government didn't even have concern to allot the double bedroom houses that were constructed behind Asian Mall in Hanamkonda, he said.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao have mastered the art of laying foundation stones for developmental works and forgetting them later, Reddy alleged.

Referring to KTR visit to Warangal on October 5, the DCC president demanded the TRS people's representatives to explain about the promises made by their leader in the past and their fate. He demanded the TRS leaders to apologise the people of Warangal for not fulfilling their promises.
