Hanamkonda: It's time for the party cadres to show their mettle, Telugu Desam Party State Organising Secretary and former MLA Bandi Pullaiah said, urging them not to lose their heart with the setbacks the party has received of late. Speaking at a meeting that was presided over by State Organising Secretary Gattu Prasad Babu in Hanamkonda on Friday, he said that TDP has always stood on people's side and it will continue to do so.

"The State government led by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) didn't fulfil the aspirations of the people," he said. People, who noticed the misdeeds of the TRS government, will teach a fitting lesson to that party in the ensuing municipal elections, he added.

Referring to those leaders, who crossed over to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the TRS, Pullaiah accused them of resorting to opportunistic politics. Even though some leaders have left the party for vested interests, the TDP will never be weakened as it's a cadre-cased party since its inception. The TDP manufactured several top leaders giving them political identity from nowhere, he said. People still trust in the principles promoted by the TDP, Pullaiah said, expressing confidence that the party will be back with a bang under the leadership of N Chandrababu Naidu.

Referring to the success of protest organised by them at Indira Park in Hyderabad, Gattu Prasad Babu said that it indicates that people still have faith in the TDP. "Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who made tall promises during his visit to Warangal in January 2015, is yet to fulfil at least one of them," Prasad Babu said.

The poor and downtrodden living in the slums of Warangal are still waiting for the double bedroom houses promised by KCR, he added.

Agni Raju Naik, Hanmakonda Sambaiah, K Vinod Kumar, Y Venkateshwarlu, A Vidyasagar Rao, B Prabhakar, G Eashwara Chary and Margam Sarangam were among others present.
