Harassed woman commits suicide
Hyderabad: Fed up with the unbearable harassment by an acquaintance, a 24-year-old woman committed suicide by consuming a poisonous drink on Monday night. She died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
The victim was identified as S Jyothi. According to KPHB Colony police, they received a complaint from S Laxman a labourer and resident of Maisampally village in Kohida Mandal under Siddipeta district that his elder daughter S Jyothi was residing in IV Phase in KPHB Colony along with his friends and doing a private job at Prakash Nagar in Begumpet.
For the last two years the accused Ch. Rakesh Reddy, who belongs to the victim's neighbouring village developed acquaintance with her and he used to torture the victim to love him.
The victim narrated the grief to the complainant several times based on which he requested the accused to change his attitude, but the accused failed to do so and increased his cruelty.
On Monday at about 7:30 pm, the complainant and his wife and younger daughter spoke with the victim.
On the same day at about 8:30 pm the accused Rakesh Reddy informed him that his elder daughter consumed poison at about 8 pm near 9th Phase Park, and he shifted her to a nearby private hospital for treatment and absconded from the spot.
Immediately he rushed to the hospital and ascertained the same. He alleged that due to unbearable torture by the accused his daughter took extreme step and requested police to take action against the accused.
While undergoing treatment the victim died on Tuesday. Police by registering a case under sections 354, 354 D, 306 IPC and investigating.
