Harassment drives doctor to suicide in LB Nagar
Hyderabad: A doctor and managing director of a hospital in LB Nagar committed suicide on Tuesday. The deceased MD identified as Dr Karnala Ajay Kumar committed suicide by hanging himself to a ceiling fan in his room at his hospital Vaishnavi Multispecialty Hospital.
According to police, Dr Ajay Kumar came to the hospital as usual on Tuesday and went into his chamber and locked the door from inside. Later after a couple of hours the hospital staff found him hanging to a ceiling fan in his chamber.
They immediately brought him down and shifted to the emergency ward in the hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Later, the hospital staff informed police about the incident. The police shifted the MD's body to Osmania General Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Police recovered a suicide letter in his diary in which he said to have wrote the names of seven persons who were mentally harassing him. The MD named Karunaker Reddy, the hospital building owner, Kondal Reddy, the brother-in-law of Karunaker Reddy, K Shiva Kumar, former Sarpanch of Turkayamjal and Mega Reddy, the president of Saraswathi Nagar colony, Dr Ramesh, Shiva Reddy and Yadagiri Reddy as responsible for his extreme step.
Based on the complaint of his family members, police registered a case under section 306 IPC and are hunting for the seven persons to get clarity in the case.
According to Dr Ajay's wife Swetha, the multi-speciality hospital started in 2014 and it had been running in a rented multi-storied building at Saraswathi Nagar since then.
The building owner Karunaker Reddy gave slab building to her husband and he took Rs 10 lakh from her husband to complete the building construction.
Ch Yadagiri Reddy and others according to their plan damaged her husband's image in society and closed the hospital for one week to 15 days earlier and continuously mentally harassing her husband for one month to vacate the hospital.
She also alleged that all the seven persons also threatened the hospital staff several times.
