Harish Rao takes part in development programmes in Siddipet

Siddipet: "The change in the society should with us and it should commence from here," Finance Minister Harish Rao said here on Tuesday. He participated in several awareness programmes, including one on wet and dry waste segregation and plastic ban in the ward-1 of the municipality. The Minister was accompanied by Municipal Chairman Rajanarsu, Additional Collector Muzammil Khan, Municipal Commissioner Srinivas Reddy and Dr Shanti. Rao inaugurated the 'Steel Bank' for the ward people.

The Minister also inaugurated the Rs 5 per meals programme at Rythu Bazar. Plastic-free plates and glasses are being provided in association with Hare Rama Hare Krishna organisation. Later, the Minister participated in the distribution of dictionaries to the students, organised by FIT Sea at Indira Nagar Government High School. Harish Rao said that change in children would change families and the town itself. He suggested that teachers educate children on harmful effects of plastic use every day in schools. He urged the students to plant a sapling on their birthday and also plant saplings in memory of others.
