HC appreciates Telangana govt. on efforts to contain coronavirus
The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday appreciated Telangana government on the efforts being made to contain coronavirus in the state.
The court was hearing the petition on the coronavirus tests and treatment in Telangana through video conference for which the Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and other officials concerned were present.
The government told the court that they have conducted tests on 42,000 secondary contacts since August 3 and submitted a report to the court. Appreciating the government's efforts, the court observed that it acted tough earlier to make Telangana as one of the best states in the country and had no intention to criticize the government.
The court said that it was trying to correct the mistakes made by the government and further asked the corona warriors not to misunderstand the court's suggestion. It further said that it made suggestions in order to provide better treatment for the patients.
On the other hand, the court vented out anger on the private hospitals for charging excessive medical bills for treating coronavirus patients. It also asked the government as to why it is not initiating any action on such hospitals.
