HC asks Telangana govt to hold talks with RTC workers by Nov 11

Update: 2019-11-07 16:24 IST

Dealing with the petitions filed over TSRTC strike, the High Court asked the government to hold talks with RTC workers and resolve the issue by November 11. "If failed to solve the issues of the RTC workers, the court will look into the matter," it said adjourning the case to November 11.

On the other hand, the court also received the petition filed against the privatisation of a few RTC routes. It will be heard tomorrow. Meanwhile, the court fumed over the mismatch of reports submitted by the chief secretary of finance department Ramakrishna Rao.

It wondered as to how could an IAS officer submit such kind of reports. "Giving false statements deliberately will fall under contempt of court," the court said.

Meanwhile, the assistant solicitor general Rajeshwar Rao raised arguments on behalf of the centre over RTC. He said that splitting of APSRTC has not done yet and TSRTC has no legality. "The centre has 33 per cent share in APSRTC and it will not be transferred to TSRTC," said Rao adding that there is no 33 per cent share in TSRTC.

The split of APSRTC has not done yet and the government has to take permission from the centre. "There are no pieces of evidence of the centre granting permission to the AP government in splitting RTC," Rajeshwar Rao said.
