Health minister Eatala Rajender to take first shot of COVID-19 vaccine in Telangana
As the COVID-19 vaccine distribution will begin on January 16 across the country, health minister Eatala Rajender would take the first shot of the vaccine in Telangana.
The minister said that the state government has been prepared to begin the vaccine distribution drive from January 16 and around 13,900 people would get the shot on the first day. "Nearly 2.90 lakh healthcare workers from both public and private sector have registered their names for the vaccination," he added.
The vaccination drive would begin in Telangana at 139 centres across the state on January 16 i.e, two to three centres in each district.
The health minister said that the Chief Minister would chair a meeting on Monday to review the state preparation for the vaccination drive. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also hold a meeting with the Chief Ministers of all states in the view of vaccination programme. The meeting will be held at 4 pm.
