Heatwave grips Telangana, Khammam sizzles at 47 degree Celsius
The increase in mercury levels is creating a sense of uneasiness among elderly people and children. Khammam on Saturday registered 47 degree Celsius and the people advised to stay indoors.
Also, the parts of Telangana have also witnessed the temperatures four degree Celsius above the normal range. A few districts experienced the flow of hot winds as predicted by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD has predicted heatwave across the state for three days from May 22 to May 24.

According to the bulletin issued by the IMD, heatwave conditions are prevailed over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Telangana during the next three days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall was also predicted at isolated places over parts of south peninsular India from May 26 to 27, 2020.
On Wednesday, Hyderabad recorded 42-degree Celsius temperature, highest of the year.
