Heatwave warning extended to May 29 in Telangana
Telangana: People in the Telangana state would reel under an intense heatwave for few more days as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has extended heatwave alert till 8.30 am on May 29.
The IMD said that the state would experience heatwave conditions especially at isolated places in the districts of Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Mahbubabad, Warangal Urban and Rural, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet and Mahbubnagar.
According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSPDS), Adilabad witnessed the highest temperature of 46.3 degree Celsius followed by Jannaram, Banswada and Kamareddy at 45.9 degree Celsius each. Meanwhile, the state's capital Hyderabad has witnessed 44 degree Celsius in the areas of Ramachandrapuram and Bandlaguda. Areas like Uppal, Charminar, Quthbullapur and Saidabad witnessed 43.5 degree Celsius.
However, the state would witness light to moderate showers after the alert that would bring relief from the scorching heat.
