Heavy rains inundate roads in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Heavy rainfall lashed the Hyderabad city on Saturday bringing relief to the people from the scorching sun. Areas like Khairatabad, Somajiguda, Panjagutta, Koti, Begum Bazar, Abids, Himayat Nagar, Basheer Bagh, Nampally, Amberpet, Kacheguda, Nallakunta, Mehdipatnam, Langer Houz, Saidabad, Champapet, Saroor Nagar, Malakpet, Kothapet witnessed heavy rainfall accompanied by the strong winds.
The rainfall also left roads inundated and caused slow movement of traffic in many areas. According to the officials of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the reason for the rainfall is due to the formation of cumulonimbus clouds. The clouds will be formed wherever the highest temperature is recorded.
Currently, the rainfall is seen in Medchal, Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Nagarkurnool, IMD officials said adding that other districts are also likely to witness the rainfall by evening. The officials also made it clear that there is no effect of the Cyclone Amphan on Telangana which is said to get intensified by today evening.
