Heavy rains inundate roads in Hyderabad, more in store
Heavy rains have thrown public life out of gear in Hyderabad on Saturday. The rains that lashed the city for about six hours inundated roads causing inconvenience to the commuters. The slow movement of traffic witnessed on the Khairatabad road with knee-level water on road.
LB Nagar in Hyderabad witnessed the highest amount of rainfall of 10.2 mm followed by Manoharabad in Medak district at 9.3 mm, 8.2 mm Nandigama of Rangareddy district and Neredmet, 8.1 mm in Red Hills, 8 mm in Alwal, 7.8 mm in Daultabad in Siddipet, 7.6 mm in Narayanguda, 7.5 mm in Telecom colony, 6.7 mm in West Marredpally and Tirmulgherry, 6.6 mm Musheerabad and Vijayanagar colony, 6.3 mm in Khairatabad.
The state witnessed rainfall starting from 8 am in the morning to 8 pm in the night. The reason for the rainfall is due to the trough formed across Madhya Pradesh to Marathwada region which resulted in the flow of high-pressure winds. The rainfall is also expected to lash the state in the next 48 hours, according to the official of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Raja Rao.
