Helicopter services to Vemulawada, special buses for Maha Shivratri
Hyderabad: With the success of helicopter services to recent Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara, the Telangana government has decided to extend it to Vemulawada Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple on the occasion of Maha Shivratri.
Vemulawada is a popular pilgrimage site in Telangana, where large numbers of devotees visit the temple on Shivratri. With this, the TS Tourism Minister Srinivas Goud has allocated Rs 1 crore for the grand arrangements of the Jatara.
He said helicopter services would be provided from Hyderabad to Vemulawada with special packages. In addition, the tourism department is also going to operate special buses to Vemulawada.
Currently, the decoration works are going on at the temple for Maha Shivratri, where all arrangements are made for the devotees for easy darshan. Minister has inspected the drinking water supply and sanitation works.
He said the officials to arrange cultural programs with the artists from across the state at the temple ground on Shivratri day and make the event a grand success.
On the other side, special bus services will be run to famous Sivalayam's on Shivratri. Special buses will be operated from all corners of Hyderabad to Srisailam temple in Kurnool district. The special services will be available from 18th to 23rd February. This year, the Maha Shivratri festival is coming on 21st February (Friday). As it is going to be a long weekend, the special buses will play between Hyderabad to Srisailam for every 20 minutes.
