Helmet mandatory for pillion riders in Hyderabad soon
The State transport department is planning to make helmet mandatory for the pillion riders making the traffic rules more tougher to prevent the death caused by road accidents.
An awareness rally was also taken out on Sunday on the use of helmet by pillion riders marking the week-long 31st national road safety week celebrations.
Soon challans will be imposed by the traffic police on the pillion riders who don't wear a helmet. However, a few of the motorists who did not wear a helmet while pillion riding has already been issued challans. Some of them also took to the social media on the new rule that is yet to be announced.
On Sunday, Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar took part in a ceremony at Khammam on the road safety where he asked the two-wheeler riders to wear helmets and people travelling in cars must wear seat belts.
