Highest Covid-19 cases in a single day in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana reported its highest single day Covid-19 cases (169 overall) with GHMC itself registering 82 cases. Thus the overall tally rose to 2425 in the state so far. Also, four more deaths were seen. Like seen in the last few days, 64 deportees from abroad also were found to be infected after landing in Telangana.

Also, the number of zero cases districts from more than last 14 days have come down this week. The figure which was 25 districts has come down to 17 which means eight new districts have reported new corona cases. As regards GHMC that has witnessed big spike in cases continuously, the health department reiterated that all the non-Pharmacological preventive measures have to be implemented strictly. Vigorous Contact tracing, strict quarantine measures (home and government), risk assessment, judiciously assessing the area of containment, strict perimeter control have to be taken up. At this juncture, risk communication plays a major role in behaviour change thereby mitigating further spread of infection.

Among the four dead in the last 24 hours, there was a 53- year- old male suffering from Carcinoma Thyroid. He was admitted and treated for 7 days in Gandhi hospital. A 59- year -old male suffering from Multiple Myeloma also died. He was admitted and treated for 3 days in the hospital. A 62- year- old male suffering from Hemiplegia, who was admitted and treated for 13 days in the hospital also lost his life. The fourth person was a 60 -year -old female patient suffering from Hypertension and associated Comorbidities. She was admitted and treated for 5 days in the hospital. The government of India has airlifted 458 deportees to Telangana till date.

These deportees have been quarantined in government quarantine centers in the state. Till date 207 deportees have tested positive for covid-19 and are being treated. Also 180 migrants who returned to Telangana from various states tested positive.
