Highest death toll of 14 on a single day in Telangana
Hyderabad: Telangana has registered the highest deaths in a single day (14) so far even as 154 new cases were reported from different parts of the state. The deaths tally rose to 137 overall. In just two consecutive days 24 people have died in the state giving an indication of the gravity of the situation.
Among dead, ten are males while four are females. The youngest among them is 33- year- old (a scribe) while the oldest was a 85-year old female. Ten of them were above 50 years of age. Majority of the patients have died in one to three days after testing positive and admitted in Gandhi hospital.
Of the fresh cases, 132 are from GHMC limits while 12 are from Ranga Reddy. The number of frontline healthcare workers testing positive has almost touched 40 in the state. Meanwhile, steps are being taken up to admit and treat infected doctors and healthcare staff in NIMS hospital. 200 beds are being readied for this purpose and CM's nod is awaited.
