Hike in power tariffs and property tax soon: KCR

In order to provide better services to the people, the hike in power tariffs and property taxes is necessary said the chief minister. "Hike in the power tariffs and property taxes will be announced soon to develop the villages and towns," said KCR.

The chief minister further asked the people to bear the hike and also made it clear that the hike will not burden the people from underprivileged sections. He also said that the government needs taxes to provide better governance and to develop the towns and cities in the state.

KCR asked the sarpanches and other officials to discharge their duties responsibly and further ordered them to make sure all the taxes are being collected. 

The revised tariff will be applicable to domestic, commercial and industrial and is likely to be effective from April 1, 2020. For domestic need, the tariff may be hiked from 8 per cent to 10 per cent.
