Hired TRC Bus drivers creating scare on roads in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Increasing number of accidents caused by hired TSRTC bus drivers is creating fear not only among passengers but also among pedestrians and riders as their inexperience is taking a toll of innocent lives.

While the accident in which a software employee Sohini Saxena was crushed by RTC bus at Banjara Hills on Tuesday due to which her entire family, including the future of her twins of three years age got shattered, Wednesday witnessed three accidents involving RTC buses driven by temporary drivers.

The TSRTC officials also feel that the image of the corporation was getting tarnished and they hope that the government finds a solution to the strike imbroglio. Tollywood actor Sampoornesh Babu, his wife and daughter escaped with minor injuries when an RTC bus hit his car at the new bus station in Siddipet town. The incident occurred when the RTC driver attempted to overtake the car.

On receipt of information Siddipet-1 Town police rushed to the spot and shifted the actor and his family members to a hospital and provided first aid. Later, they were discharged from the hospital. The police took the driver into their custody and took up investigation. However, the RTC driver alleged that Sampoornesh Babu applied sudden brakes due to which he was unable to control the bus and hit their car.

In other two incidents under Malakpet police station limits, a Super Luxury bus of Sattupalli depot hit a city bus belonging to Bandlaguda depot near Moosarambagh. Both the buses were proceeding towards Dilsukhnagar from Chaderghat.

According to police, one passenger received minor injuries. In another tragic fatal accident that occurred near Moosarambagh crossroads, a person by name J Shekar (20), working in a medical shop at Secunderabad, died when his motorcycle accidentally fell down and came under the rear tyres of an RTC bus. On receipt of information police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
