Update: 2019-07-10 00:51 IST

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday made a fervent plea to the Centre to honour the assurances given in the AP Reorganisation Act.

Raising the issue in the lower house during Zero Hour, Reddy said the people of Telangana are totally disappointed that there is no mention of anything for Telangana either in the address of the President or in the Finance Minister's budget presentation speech.

Particularly, there was no mention in both the speeches regarding assurances given to the people of Telangana in the AP bifurcation bill.

Specifically, the assurances given in the bill regarding railway coach factory at Kazipet, steel factory at Bayyaram, and Tribal University should be honoured.

"Home Minister Amit Shah is in the house and listening to my speech. I demand that the assurances given to the people of Telangana in AP bifurcation bill be honoured," he added.
