Hundreds attend health camp conducted by Congress
Hyderabad: Hundreds of patients and local residents thronged free health camp at Mirza Palace Function Hall in Golconda on Saturday.
The free health camp was organised by Hyderabad City Congress Committee (HCCC) Minorities Department Chairman Sameer Waliullah and TPCC Spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin, in association with Healthier Hearts Foundation.
TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar, Congress MLA Jagga Reddy, TPCC Minorities Department Chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail and other senior leaders visited the health camp.
Speaking to media persons, Jagga Reddy appreciated the initiative taken by Sameer Waliullah and Syed Nizamuddin and said that the health camp would benefit hundreds of poor people who could not afford several medical tests.
Ponnam Prabhakar also appreciated the initiative and suggested that similar health camps should be held across Telangana State. He alleged that the negligent attitude of State government towards public health deteriorated the conditions.
Speaking on the occasion, Sameer Waliullah informed that the health camp at Golconda was second in a series of free medical camps being organised in various slum areas.
The first camp was held on September 26 in First Lancer. Various medical tests including ECG, 2D Echo, Blood Tests, Sugar GRBS, BP, etc., were conducted at the health camp and medicines were also provided at free of cost in both the camps. He said general physicians and specialists, including cardiologists, were available in the camp.
TPCC Spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin said both the health camps held in First Lancer and Golconda were successful with hundreds of people benefiting from them.
He said another health camp will be organised in Rasoolpura on September 29 (Sunday). He appealed to the people living in specified areas to avail the opportunity by participating in the health camps.
